The Highland Castle Ultra Sweep
The Highland Castle Ultra Sweep is our pride ultra along the Mount Kenya Burguret Route. Serving sweeping views of sheer lava cliffs’ formation, The Highland Castle is usually the second campsite after the Giant Bamboo Camp when climbing Mount Kenya to the summit using the Burguret route. We crafted this ultra with a low elevation gain in mind because most of our ultra hikes go above 3900m.
Sitting at 3700m, the Highland Castle is the highest point you will sit on during this hike. You will pass through bamboo zone to the moorlands, and though the bamboo is not muddy like the one during our Ultimate Southern Nyandarua Traverse, the Highland Castle Ultra Sweep closely shares distance.
